  • Do I need to be a published writer?

    No. Writers of all experience levels are welcome, from beginners to published authors.


    Whether you are at the start of a project, deep in the trenches of worldbuilding, or pitching your final edited work, we have always have room for you.

  • What happens at a typical meeting?

    We have a loose structure as we are more of a community than a class.


    The first 10-15 minutes each person introduces themselves, then 20 minutes or more for open discussion, then the evening's presentation. While there are times we do end early, we always finish by 7:30pm.

  • What kinds of writing are welcome?

    We welcome fiction, nonfiction, poetry, memoir, screenplays, and any other form of creative writing of any genre.


    If shared writing involves slurs, triggerable content, or NSFW content please disclose appropriately.

  • Do I have to share my writing?

    No, sharing is always optional. You're welcome to attend, listen, and participate in discussions.


    Your level of involvement and disclosure is always in your control.

  • Is this a critique group?

    No, our focus is on encouragement, inspiration, and conversation rather than detailed critiques or manuscript reviews.

  • How often does the group meet?

    Every Monday from 6pm to 7:30pm in the Unquiet Study Room on the second floor.


    Please see the library's schedule as we do not meet when it is closed.

  • Is there a cost to attend?

    No, attendance is always free.

  • Do I need to register?

    No, there is no registration required. Simply join us at a meeting, you can come and go as you please.

  • What should I bring?

    Bring something to write with, such as a notebook or laptop, and an open mind.
